Draft sill end casting

Developed with advanced computing techniques, it has the following special features: reduction of the maintenance cycle, better product quality due to better foundry capability, rationalized design (easy to assemble, reduction of the stages required for welding), greater mechanical resistance.

  • 1. Yoke
  • 2. Draft gear
  • 3. Crosshead
  • 4. Coupler
  • 5. Knuckle

Yoke

Yoke with a new, redesigned geometry, eliminating stress-concentrating points, which ensures high-resistance to fatigue. The new profile enables a more rational and simplified assembly.

Rotary Couplings and Draw Bars

Rotary Couplings and Draw Bars can have a high level of located wear and deformities due to the severity of the requirements. AmstedMaxion developed a patented process for surface treatment for such components, which strongly increases wear resistance and significantly reduces deformities caused by repetitive impacts.

Draft gear

By using Planning and experiment techniques as well as optimization algorithms, a new alloy was developed and patented with superior characteristics to the steels traditionally applied to these components, with a particular increase of fatigue resistance. Used in the Draft gear components, the new alloy’s versatility enables its employment in other components submitted to a high requirement level.
